The recent announcement by Cargill of possible job losses in Hereford, following the removal of the Asda contract should surely be a warning to Planners and Councillors in Herefordshire.

The application for a poultry broiler unit at Flag Station, Mansel Lacy, was approved, despite many local objections, including our business which actually adjoins the proposed site, and the owner of a thriving holiday business less than 300 meters from the site, who were all totally ignored, in favour of the applicant being able to diversify. At the same time the applicant's home, let farms, cottages, and business were protected by placing this unit on the outer most area of the entire Estate.

To thrive Herefordshire needs a diverse range of business', therefore, the careful choice of such large sites should be paramount. All business' should be given the opportunity to thrive.

The owner of the holiday business, continues to fight through law, so concerned is he for the future of his livelihood.
