In 1789, the British nation was tested for any grasp of moral standards, when Wilberforce brought his bill to the Houses of Parliament for the Abolition of the Slave Trade.

It took Britain 18 years to find the moral principles to abolish it.

I think that Britain is being tested once more, to respond to the desperate plight of foreign citizens and their children, fleeing from prolonged destruction and death, such as none of us have ever been subjected to.

So far, in my humble opinion, Britain is failing miserably, and the refugees cannot wait 18 years for us to learn the value to ourselves, of compassion in the care for the desperate.

What standards should our nation live by?

Shall we choose the values of Medicin Sans Frontier or shall we follow Donald Trump, the obscene choice of millions?
