RECENTLY the Hereford Times published my letter regarding the need to recycle medication.
Unfortunately Intercare who have been recycling unwanted medication since the 1970s have recently been faced by new regulations.
It seems EU legislation and the recent tightening of the rules on Good Distribution Practice (GDP) by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) means they are having to phase out recycling of patient-returned medicines over the next few months.
I feel deeply saddened by this turn of events and know of no other means of usefully recycling unused medication.
