HEREFORD had its river carnival last year and the Wye Trow (The Hereford Bull) was moored on the river. This year the trow is nowhere to be seen.
I’m guessing it has been mothballed at Gloucester Docks where no-one can see or appreciate it.
This vessel was the pride-of-place Herefordshire exhibit at the Queen’s Jubilee celebration flotilla and should be moored on the Wye at Hereford to be used for training of sea cadets and disabled sailors, as per Lady Darnley’s comments on BBC TV in May 2013.
If that can’t be done then perhaps it should be moored on Bodenham Lake as a training vessel and visitor attraction for Herefordshire to be proud of.
Why hide our history when it can be used as education of how skilful and inventive Herefordians were back in the day?
