I was surprised and pleased to see the commemorative seat outside the Volunteer Inn in Harold Street in Hereford.
I was told by a lady working in the pub that it had been supplied by the Herefordshire Light Infantry Museum and that there were others along the river.
I have since been told that there are others dotted around the town. What a lovely, lasting way to commemorate the brave men of this county who fought with distinction in this Herefordshire Regiment and probably used this very pub before leaving these shores to fight and for many to die on foreign shores.
We will remember them and these lovely seats will be a reminder for years to come.
