WITH the deadline for comments on the council’s Core Strategy looming, some are wondering why the council’s cabinet can’t get its story straight.
We’re told that job creation in Herefordshire is to benefit people in Herefordshire yet the strategy tells us the acres of new houses planned for Hereford’s outskirts are needed for incomers who will fill the “thousands of jobs” at Skylon Park.
The relationship between the Marches LEP, cabinet members and the board of Skylon Park is worrying and this is evident in the Core Strategy roads and housing allocations.
It’s obvious that the Core Strategy is a betrayal and a charter for bleeding Herefordshire dry.
If the cabinet were really interested in supporting the local economy and employment, they wouldn’t be knee-capping High Town and bulldozing established local businesses in the way of the city link road.
