Get creative on rail fares
CONCERNING a recent article on the cost of rail travel from Hereford to London (Rail fares to London could rise 55%, warns watchdog, Hereford Times, April 30), better deals are often found travelling via Birmingham.
I have recently booked a London Midland train from Hereford to Birmingham New Street and from there with Virgin Trains to London Euston for £21 return.
The journey time (3hr 14mins) may be a little longer, but Euston station is much closer to central London than Paddington.
