COUNCILLORS PaulineDavies and Peter Jones really delude themselves by ‘believing’ the majority are in favour of the May Fair in the centre of Leominster.
Many, including myself, consider the centre a no-go area when the fair is on. As one Broad Street shopkeeper told me recently: “My customers say, ‘See you next week, when the fair’s gone!’”
Move it out of the town centre so as not to disrupt business and people going about their business.
Let us also not forget the health and safety aspect. I had to carefully steer myself (with grandson in buggy) among active vehicles at the top of Broad Street to reach Church Street, negotiating precarious, lumpy electricity cables along the way.
