THERE are many arguments for and against wind farms (Turbines not to be feared, Letters, April 16), but I can assure Critchell Stoyel that they are, in my experience, rarely welcomed by visitors.

She may not mind our stunning natural landscape being invaded by industrial turbines, but friends who come to visit me (from as far afield as Amsterdam) are quite adamant that it’s the unspoilt natural setting of the Marches that is their main interest. Their usual plea is “keep us away from these monstrosities.”
