CAN I say a big thank-you to the parishioners, evangelists and priests who came together to make the St Francis Xavier (SFX) Catholic Church Parish Mission such a worthwhile success?
Members of the Sion community joined in to help with home visits and evangelical services throughout the fortnight-long mission.
The two-week mission leading up to Palm Sunday and Holy Week has strengthened the church with parishioners reaching out, talking and sharing the Christian faith with townspeople, lapsed Catholics, atheists and agnostics, the lonely and the forgotten.
Despite the horrors of persecution abroad and social discord and poverty at home, the bizarre organisation Jesus Christ set up as he walked through ancient Israel 2,000 years ago is in good shape.
