WITH Leominster Town Council gradually taking over a number of services previously supplied by the county council, taxpayers might well be paying twice for the same services, unless the county removes any relevant costs from its own budgets, at the time when the town council adds any such charges in its own precept.
Perhaps Councillor Felicity Norman, who appears to favour the changes, could assure Leominster residents that they will only pay once for the services transferred to the town council, and confirm that this happened when the weekly market and public conveniences came under town council control.
