THE beige settee in this photograph was dumped in a ditch in Crowmoor Lane,Tillington overnight on February 23-24.
I advised Herefordshire Council customer services of this during the morning of February 24 and they stated that they had passed it to Environmental Health and Trading Standards for action.
They added the contact details for EHTS, stating that I should contact them if I required any further information.
As the settee was still in the ditch on March 6, I emailed EHTS asking if/when they expect to remove it.
To date I have had no reply. I have kept my councillor and the parish council up to date with my communications with the council. I think that my next move will be to hire a van and deliver the settee to Plough Lane.
There have been at least two recent letters in the Hereford Times from residents complaining about the amount of litter scattered about the roads. It appears to me that the council classes flytipping and rubbish in general as a very low priority.
