WHILE I am appalled that Herefordshire Council has decided we must pay for car parking in the evenings, I am even more appalled that no-one can see the meter or tariff board in the dark.
There have been three recent occasions when I have parked in Hereford at night and there were no lights over the machines or tariff boards. The first was at St Martin’s car park, the second was at the back of the Town Hall and the third was at the Greyfriars car park. On each occasion there were very many furious people.
At the late-night festive shopping there were loads of us trying to read the board and trying to find money in our purses. Surely it’s not rocket science to provide lights. By pure chance I had a torch in my car.
