WHY, when it is acknowledged that young people need to try to find work while studying for a degree in order not to acquire too huge a debt, are employers so inflexible?

Big employers claim to be supporting young people but in reality this is not the case. One member of my family has had to reluctantly to give notice on a supermarket job because they would not take into account their studies alongside their employment.

When an employee, trained and already employed, finds he cannot alter his hours to fit in with studying, it makes embarking on a degree course even more daunting.

Big employers should be ashamed of themselves for not supporting the next generation especially when they publicly claim that they do.
