THE roads to Hereford city and those in and around the colleges are not fit for purpose. Some radical measures are needed to free them up and here are some: l Tax incentives and local prizes for car sharing.
- Forbidding slow-moving vehicles on the road from 8am-9am and 4pm-5.30pm.
- Seek private investment to connect the city with the areas in and around by monorail or tube.
- Seek private investment to expand the rail link planned for Rotherwas to connect with Ross and Monmouth.
- Get rid of speed bumps as they are not needed and only cause damage.
- Find space to build and implement park and ride.
- Put a roundabout at the Ledbury Road end of Folly Lane.
- Encourage colleges and businesses to stagger start and end times to ease congestion.
- Have a "Do you need to use your car at school run time?" campaign and provide rewards.
- Use more interactive warning signs for hold-ups.
