I AM a same-day courier delivering items from Bristol to Hereford twice a day, five days a week.

On September 29 I arrived at the Tesco roundabout and from there it took me an hour to get to Holmer Road.

I discovered that a lorry had broken down by the Brecon junction. My delivery was 45 minutes late.

For my second delivery I arrived at the Tesco roundabout and it took me 50 minutes to get to Harrow Road. The lorry was still there at 3.30pm.

At neither time were any police in evidence or any urgency apparent. This is by no means the only time that Hereford has been gridlocked, and it is increasing.

What surprises me is why any business would wish to come to Hereford as on Monday I missed two deadlines. Hereford will suffer in the future unless this is sorted out.
