IN these days of cutbacks and closures, can I say a big thank-you for the sandpit in Hereford’s High Town this summer?
It meant that my two-year-old granddaughter had hours of playing and making friends, as we all did , when enjoying, rather than enduring shopping in town with a toddler.
It encouraged my daughter and I to take her into Hereford, rather than elsewhere, to do our shopping and spend much longer and therefore more money in this location!
Whoever had the idea, installed it, maintained it and paid for the facility which made shopping and childminding such a pleasure this summer, needs our grateful thanks.
