IT’S just over half a century since the Rolling Stones played at Hereford’s Hillside Ballroom as part of their rise to become perhaps Britain’s most well-known group after the Beatles.

I’m compiling a people’s history of the Stones and if any of your readers were at the show back in 1963 and would like to share their memories – who they went with, what they remember of the gig, whether they enjoyed it – I’d love to hear from them.

It was Friday, December 13 and I understand the venue was only half full. Admission was 7/6 (37p).

There's no record of what the Stones played that night, although your readers may know better.

I’m really interested to hear from anyone who went to the gig and if they have any photos or souvenirs from it.
