WITH regard to the controversy over gigantic chicken units, county councillors David Greenow and Adrian Blackshaw are quite obviously living in cloud cuckoo land if they believe that odour from gigantic poultry units is not an issue.

Also, if technology is available to counteract odour, why is it not being used?

If Messrs Greenhow and Blackshaw believe that little odour is emitted from these chicken farms, perhaps they would like to come to our home, especially on a warm day when they could smell for themselves what we have to put up with from a chicken farm two fields away.

I write not as a 'NIMBY townie' but as a country-bred person who until our retirement lived on our livestock and arable farm for more than 50 years.
