I wondered if you would be so kind as to allow me say a few thanks to some very generous people.

I have just heard that the Lions Club have made us a very generous donation to help towards paying for the flowers in Hightown. This along with the again generous donation from the Coffee Cart in Hightown, given to help us with the very special day in Hightown when we welcome the Britain in Bloom judges for our Region. The day in question is Friday 18th July and we will have some very interesting stalls with people all helping to promote Hereford and the County.

As most people know the County Council decided they could not afford to pay for the annual flowers throughout the City so we have taken on that task and Balfour Beatty are currently doing the planting. The City Council will kindly pay for the watering.

In fact I must also thank another business because when we ordered the flowers, we did not have enough money in the bank to pay for them and as a Charity this is not considered as ethical, so Claridge Nursing Homes went guarantor for us and I am pleased to say they needn't worry, we are now solvent! In fact all businesses that have supported us in the past have continued to do so, unfortunately with one exception.

Hightown should look super all summer and I hope everyone will help keep it clean and tidy. We have around 12 stalls for July 18th, so there should be something for everyone and it will look as if the Bull is in a field as Easy Lawn are kindly providing some grass for the Bull to munch on!

Thanks,
