YOUNG Colwall Players and Colwall Players are staging a production of Joan Aiken's classic children's novel, The Wolves of Willoughby Chase, adapted by Russ Tunney.

Imagine England in winter under snow. Imagine the Channel Tunnel from Dover to Calais, not long completed, but already a great many wolves, driven by severe winters, have migrated through from mainland Europe to the British Isles.

A thrilling adventure set in an alternative history of England, The Wolves of Willoughby Chase tells the story of two brave and determined girls as they fight against ferocious wolves, snowy wastelands and their evil guardian, Miss Slighcarp.

Wolves are roaming Britain, but this is not the only danger that cousins Bonnie and Sylvia, and their friend Simon the Goose-boy, must face as they encounter unforgettable characters and mysterious scheming.

Performances are from Thursday to Saturday February 22 to 24 at 7pm, with a matinee performance on Saturday at 2pm. The play is recommended for children aged six and upwards.

Tickets are on sale at John Goodwin’s Colwall office on 01684 540300.
