YOUNGSTERS at the John Masefield High School were busy rehearsing this week for a concert with more than a nod to Hollywood.

Around 75 students were set to perform at the annual Summer Celebration at John Masefield High School on Thursday evening, and the chosen theme was "A Night At The Movies", with every piece of music coming from the films.

A school spokesman said: "The programme includes performances from the school orchestra, our two choirs, our string ensemble, our sixth form band and a variety of woodwind ensembles and soloists; playing pieces from The Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, Moana, La La Land and Slumdog Millionaire and many more."

As added attraction, art work form students was set to go on display, for a new exhibition; and Year 9 catering students were asked to make canapes for the special evening.
