A LOCAL school has installed a defibrillator, with its own heated cabinet, thanks to a donation from a former pupil.
The defibrillator, also called an AED, is based at Ann Cam Primary and is the third one to be located in the village of Dymock, near Ledbury.
Headteacher, Chris Ward, said there had been no emergencies at the school, requiring the use of a defibrillator.
But he added: "The Department for Education recommend that all schools should have an AED, to ensure the health and safety of pupils, staff and visitors to the site.
"The former pupil who has donated the AED and heated cabinet is the daughter of one of my teaching assistants- Lyn Pearson. Lyn recently renewed her first aid training and part of the training includes using an AED.
She mentioned the training to her daughter, Gillian Taylor, who then said she would buy an AED for the school."
Mr Ward added: "Gillian also donated the cabinet so the AED is accessible to the local residents as well and it becomes the third AED in the village."
