THOUSANDS of spectators turned out each year to support the traditional Boxing Day hunt in Ledbury.

In the good weather, drinks were served by staff outside the Feathers Hotel and, following a speech by the Master of the Hunt, the horn was sounded and the pack set off.

To stay within the law of the Hunting Act, passed a decade ago, a trail is laid for hounds to chase down and in Ledbury this takes them through the High Street before moving onto the countryside.

Ledbury resident Jan Long said: "Record numbers attended.

"The Ledbury Hunt tradition has survived from the 1830’s and continues to draw crowds to view this colourful country spectacle.

"A wonderful Boxing Day event, well supported by visitors from far and wide."
