LOVERS of theatre and close shaves will be making their way to the John Masefield High School this Friday (November 25).

Member of the sixth form will be performing a one-night-only production of "Sweeney Todd" who was, of course, the demon barber of Fleet Street.

A spokesman said: "The project is being organised by a team of students, led by Emma Warren as part of her Extended Project Qualification.

"As well as being Artistic Director, Emma is taking the role of Musical Director. Supporting her are Co-Directors Paulina Mikulicz and Jason Johns, with choreography from Destiny Dawe."

The spokesman added: "For the first time ever, the sixth form cast will be accompanied by an orchestra of fellow students, conducted by Emma Warren.

"Sweeney Todd is a notoriously challenging musical, and the cast and orchestra have embraced the complex score and are working extremely hard in preparation for the show night."

Tickets are available from www.positickets.co.uk and are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. The performance will take place in the school theatre at 7pm.
