CLOUDS did not entirely ruin the chances of Ledbury people seeing the supermoon on Monday evening and into the early hours.

On Monday, the gap between the Earth and the moon was at it shortest point, a mere 221,525 miles, and the last time moon was as near to our planet was back in 1948.

The moon will not be as close again until 2034.

These images were snapped by Bromsberrow resident, Jan Long.

She said: "Driving home I was lucky enough to see the moon rise and catch these images before she was veiled by the clouds."

The moon was back out of the clouds again over Ledbury by the early hours of Tuesday morning, by which time it was less golden and more its usual silvery shades .
