A NEWENT man has won a national award for outstanding quality standards in the building trade, by beating thousands of other site managers to the top spot.

Lioncourt Homes recently retained its prestigious 5 Star Quality Award from the House Builders Federation, and site manager Andy Addis, who lives in Newent, has won a National Pride in the Job Quality Award in recognition of the outstanding quality standards for the Lioncourt development at Saxon Meadow, Kempsey.

A spokesman said: "This development has proved to very popular with its close proximity to Worcester, Malvern and Ledbury. This award now further boosts the attraction of this site and demonstrates the high quality approach taken on this development.

"Andy has won this coveted award for quality as part of a national competition organised by National House-Building Council (NHBC), the leading standard-setting and consumer protection body for new homes in the UK."

The awards are held annually and awarded to "homebuilders who develop the highest quality new homes across the UK".

The inspectors judge developments over a year, scrutinising site managers and marking their development against criteria including site organisation, quality control, technical ability and professionalism.

Lioncourt Homes Chief Executive, Colin Cole said: "The company is delighted that Andy has achieved this award. This award recognises the high standard of work Andy has consistently produced, and the great support he has received from our contractors and everyone in the Lioncourt team.”

Andy has overcame stiff competition from approximately 13,000 site managers to be awarded the Pride in the Job Quality Award, of which only 3% were successful throughout the UK.
