A BROADCASTING and media company based in Worcestershire has been embracing Bollywood glamour and brought the horrors of the Second World War to life as part of its latest projects.

IDP Film, which has offices in Hereford and Hindlip in Worcester, was set up by twin brothers Paul and Mark Edwards in 1989, and it has gone from strength-to-strength ever since.

The company has previously worked on various television and film productions, working with clients including Wembley Stadium, Formula 1, MotoGP, and Cancer Research UK's Race For Life event.

A few years ago the company had a big break with the Bollywood film industry and after producing successful trailers and films, IDP is now working on its third Bollywood production, which involves leading Bollywood stars Jimmy Sheirgil and Ram Leela.

Paul Edwards, who grew up in Hallow with his brother, said: "People don't realise Bollywood has become bigger than Hollywood.

"No expense is spared when it comes to budgets for locations."

He explained the company has previously invested in state-of-the-art Ultra 4K cameras, and aerial drone platforms allowing them to capture the best shots on locations.

Locations have included stately homes throughout England, including recently at Waddesdon Manor, and the rare opportunity to film at Windsor Castle.

An IDP crew has also been out to Dubai for filming.

Mark Edwards said: "Filming out there demands great attention to planning.

"Not only is it hot, well above 45 degrees, there is also a risk of battery failure.

"In these cases, we resorted to chilling the batteries to bring the operating temperature down near normal."

The company is currently working on Second World War film Fallen Eagle, which has been in production for eight months and features some of the cast from the 2014 film, Fury - including popular actor Chris Wilson.

Paul Edwards said: "We have been filming at genuine Second World War bunkers for it - we have just come off a 10 day shoot.

"Trailers have just been released for the film as a teaser."

Paul Edwards added that they are currently working with a major celebrity for a forthcoming television programme to be shown on the Quest channel early next year, having previously worked with Bruce Crompton, the star of Combat Dealers shown on the channel.
