COLWALL'S village shop officially opened its smart new premises with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Provisions of Colwall has been open in the village for many years, but its new building is part of the Blue Cedar Homes development on the site of the old water bottling plant.
It replaces the shop's old premises in a converted Victorian semi on Walwyn Road.
Shop owner Stewart Wilson, who has run the business for 17 years, said: "I'm absolutely delighted with the new premises. It was originally planned three years ago, and the new store means we can stock a much better range of items. We've got a new chilled section and frozen section and at least 200 new lines.
"It's not just people from Colwall who shop here. We get a lot of custom from other places.
"We opened last Wednesday, and on Saturday we had the official opening, and about 100 people turned up."
