LEDBURY people are being urged to get ready and support the town's biggest and best Big Breakfast event so far, with new tastes on offer to tickle the palate.

Organisers of the two day celebration, now in its fourth year, are promising "even more to savour this year."

Griff Holliday, a spokesman for the organisers, the Ledbury Food Group, said: "We are pleased to have such a splendid range of local food on offer again. What could be better on a cold January morning than a tasty breakfast? This year, nineteen local food outlets in Ledbury and district are joining to bring the best in breakfast and the best in local food on Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30.

"Local restaurants, cafés and hotels have again excelled themselves with specials for the event featuring local food."

Mr Holliday added: "New dishes this year include breakfast ciabattas, potato rosti with eggs and salmon, a healthy breakfast bake, a breakfast pudding, apple and cinnamon porridge, apple cured salmon or smoked trout and scrambled eggs, potato cakes with egg and bacon, local cheese and ale rarebit, a “deconstructed breakfast”, breakfast, sweet and savoury blinis, and a brand new “black pudding bonanza” to take home.

"If you fancy Eggs Benedict, muffins, croissants, omelettes, or traditional home cured bacon and eggs then Ledbury is the place for you. And we celebrate breakfast again with a special Rock and Roll Bingo Brunch on the Saturday."

Mr Holliday said that Ledbury's butchers will be offering "a good range of local produced breakfast produce for you to take home, cook and enjoy".

He said: "Visit the Country Market at St Katherine’s Hall on Friday to discover the local products they sell, and try their continental breakfast platter featuring locally cured meats. In another first, Handley Organics hosts a special Syrian-style breakfast with proceeds going to Ledbury Refugee Support."
