FIRE fighters from Bromyard and Malvern were called out on Saturday after a horse fell and became stuck in a bridge.
The incident happened at about noon on land at Buckenhill near Bromyard. The horse was being led over the bridge when it fell, and after arriving on the scene, the Bromyard crew called for the all-terrain vehicle to be sent from Malvern.
A vet was also called, who sedated the animal while the work was carried out.
The crews rescued the horse using its own large-animal rescue equipment and a tele-handler borrowed from a nearby farm. The horse is not thought to be injured.
