LEDBURY people are being urged to search their archives their albums and their memories, so that a new exhibition will be able to pay tribute to the local men who served in the First World War.

The exhibition, which has the working title of “Ledbury Remembers Them All” will commemorate all those who left the town and served their country in the Navy, the Army, the Air Force and the supporting services.

The exhibition, one of a series to commemorate the centenary anniversary of the 1914-1918 conflict, is being organised by Ledbury Town Council.

A spokesman said: "The lives of those who did not return have already been documented, though more photographs of those 85 men would still be welcome. The focus is now also on those who returned, and research is starting now. By late 2017, work can begin on this next exhibition in earnest. "This is a large task."

Information will be welcome on any Ledbury relative who served in World War One.

Anyone wishing to help can go to the town council offices, in Church Street, or email - admin@ledburytowncouncil.gov.uk

The spokesman said: "Your help is needed now to help make this next exhibition as good as the last one. Of course photographs would be wonderful, but basic facts will help us build a complete list so Ledbury can Remember Them All."
