A VISIT from members of the Ledbury Hunt, together with three of the hounds, made the day of a local pensioner.

For more than 30 years, Mary Griffiths, aged 96, was the Hunt Secretary and the visit from former Hunt Master, Donald Hayden and Huntsman, Mark Mellady and others, together with the hounds Chitchat, Crafty and Glimmer, brought back all the memories.

A Hunt spokesman said: "In the beautiful setting of Hill Ash Care Home on a lovely sunny afternoon, Mary met up with many of her hunting friends and together with residents from the home enjoyed afternoon tea on the lawn surrounded by hounds who would, given half a chance, have joined in the tea party."
