A Bristol man wants to get in touch with a Ledbury family called Minett about a watercolour picture he has in his possession.
The picture is of a child of about five or six, and owner Mervyn Wintle is sure it is of Mary Minett, from the Ledbury area, who he knew later in life.
He said: "I knew her when she was about 30, when she married Ron Mitchell , who was my wife's brother.
"They were married, I think in Cheltenham, in 1951, but tragically she died only about six months later. I think their4 family were farmers in the Ledbury area."
He said that the picture, plus other memorabilia including photos from the wedding, has remained in his family ever since, and he wants them reunited with the Minett family, if it still exists.
He said: "It's not of any real interest to my children, and if I don't make the effort to find the family, it will almost certainly end up in a skip when I go, which would be a pity.
"If there are relatives still around in the Ledbury area, then I would be delighted to pass the watercolour and the other pictures over to them. It would be nice if they ended up in the right hands."
Anyone with information about the family can contact Mr Wintle on 0117 932 7271.
