WEST Midlands Ambulance Service received a 999 call yesterday evening - about an injured pigeon.
The emergency service has lambasted the time-wasting call as "shocking" and reminded members of the public to only phone in genuine emergencies.
Naturally no ambulance was sent to the poorly pigeon and instead the caller was advised to contact a local vet.
People have taken to social media to ridicule the maker of the call.
Twitter user @cookiedoughninj wrote "seriously, people really need to learn what ambulances are for" while @sheldon8673 commented "we actually live in a world surrounded by real life morons".
Meanwhile ambulance staff used the @OFFICIALWMAS account to label the call "#999abuse"
