A "devastated" family are appealing for help in tracking down their stolen pet rabbits.

The bunnies, four year-old Lana and two year-old George, were put in their run for the night on Monday, and the door was bolted closed.

The next morning, when Shirley Ellis went out to the back garden to check on them around 9am, the door was unbolted and the rabbits, which are both micro-chipped, were gone.

Mrs Ellis, of Leigh Sinton Road, Malvern, said: "I did not hear anything through the night, and there's no way the rabbits, or any another animal, could have opened the run door. There was no damage caused to the run either.

"It's really upsetting. The rabbits belong to my two daughters, who both live away from home.

"When I told them what had happened they were devastated, as we all are.

"We just want to get them back as soon as we can, and are offering a reward to anyone who can find them."

Police confirmed the theft took place overnight between Monday (June 22) and Tuesday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting crime reference number 22CC/43234T/15.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said:"Theft of family pets is always disturbing and upsetting for the victim, and we would be keen for anyone with information to come forward."
