ONE of the first big tasks of a new librarian at the John Masefield High School is to move the library.
The project is part of a "shake-up" to make the use of the library more appealing for students.
School manager, Wendy Bradbeer said: "Over the last half term we have been reorganising the library to make it more appealing to the students and to encourage them to read for fun. We have been stocking up on more of the books they love to read and have had a total overhaul of the existing books to rejuvenate the book shelves.
"During the next few months the library will be moving from its current site to a large space within the English Faculty."
She added: "Our School Librarian, Jess Locke, is leading this project and is planning a series of reading competitions, clubs, reading awards and a range of other initiatives which we hope will enhance the library's contribution to students' progress. "
We want the library to be a place for reading, research and relaxation.
