Ledbury's new mayor is Cllr Annette Crowe.
Speaking in the Market House, on Thursday May 14, after her election, Cllr Crowe said old and new councillors should work together "to build a better future for Ledbury".
She said there was a need to keep local people "informed and included", and to assist in this, she suggested moving full town council meetings to the Burgage Hall or the Community Hall.
These venues are larger and have better access.
Cllr Crowe, who has a jewellery shop on the Homend, said: "We live in a fantastic town. I'm proud to be a part of it, and I am really proud to be its mayor."
Cllr Crowe, who was nominated by Cllr Liz Harvey, stood against Cllr Rob Yeoman, the outgoing deputy mayor.
Cllr Yeoman, who was nominated by the outgoing mayor, Cllr Bob Barnes, was defeated by ten votes to eight.
There were around 25 people in the public seats, and the election of Cllr Crowe was greeted with loud cheers.
