AN elderly woman fell to the ground and suffered bruising during a shocking robbery in Worcester.
The female victim, aged in her 80s, was thrown to the floor when the male thief tore a carrier bag from her hands, and then while she was down stole her purse.
West Mercia Police are calling for witnesses to the crime, which took place in Teme Road on Monday, April 20, between 3pm and 4pm.
Officers have described the robber as white, in his 20s, of slim build and about 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in tall.
He was wearing dark blue jogging bottoms and had approached the victim on a bicycle, asking for a light before following her along Teme Road.
