LEDBURY in Bloom has launched its campaign for 2015, with the aim of Painting the Town Red, - the group's theme for the year.

If all goes to plan, the red ambition will lead to more golden success.

Ledbury has eight Royal Horticultural Society gold medals in a row to its credit, for the years 2006 to 2014, for the Heart of England in Bloom area.

But the team is looking for more community support to keep the good times coming.

Sharon Maiden, Ledbury in Bloom chairman said: "We will start working on the town in earnest for the summer season this month, and we have a wish list.

"We are looking for help from someone who would be able to tend to the benches in the Walled Garden and Queens Walk. They need rubbing down and treating, all materials can be found from us; also the rubbish bins need painting. If any one thinks they may be able to help , please get in touch with one of the team."

She added: "Lots of volunteer are needed to help with a big project at the entrance to St Katherine's car park, a date will be set for this. With one fell swoop it will make a huge impact. Our theme will be red, rich purple and white so if you are wondering what to plant, it would be good to keep to the theme for the Judging Day in July."

Anyone who wants to get involved, even in small way, should phone 01531 641817.
