A CAR was stranded in flooding in Naunton Beauchamp, north of Pershore, today.

Dramatic pictures of the vehicle in 2ft of water at Seaford Ford on the Piddle Brook were posted on Twitter by the AA’s special operations response team.

The organisation criticised the motorist, tweeting “this should never have been tried” and lamenting it happened “even after all the warnings and awareness campaigns”.

Members of the public similarly took to the social media site to voice their opinions.

Laura Bullock wrote “water levels rise very quickly there” and @pershorepete added “this happens every year - we have many photos of stranded cars”.

Chris Wynne joked “why would you drive into 2ft of water?” while Andy Harris labelled the motorist’s actions as “quite mad”.
