THERE has been another burglary reported in Ledbury, this time in Lambourne Close, on the Deer Park estate.

And it raises the possibility that the same burglar carried out two burglaries, plus a theft from a car, in Ledbury during the same evening.

The Lambourne Close burglary brings the number of house-break-ins in Ledbury to thirteen, counting from the end of September.

The latest incident was only discovered at 2.30pm on Friday, December 19; but investigating officer, DC Laurence James believes it could have occurred as early as the evening of Wednesday, December 17.

This is because a black Next jacket was stolen from the rear seat of an unlocked car in Lambourne Close between 8.30pm and 11pm on that date.

So police believe the two Lambourne Close incidents may well be linked.

If so, the same burglar may have carried out a burglary in Browning Road, New Mills estate, on the very same evening.

"The incident in Lambourne Close could have been the same evening as the Browning Road burglary, " said DC James.

The intruder took a quantity of jewellery from the house in Browning Road.

But police have yet to reveal what was taken from the house in Lambourne Close.

With both break-ins, access was by a side entrance and there was forced entry at the rear of the properties.

Both houses were unoccupied at the time, which also fits the general pattern of the burglary spree.

Police in Ledbury actually arrested two suspected burglars last week, although the incident in question is not being linked to the house break-ins.

Three men were reported to be stealing car batteries from the recycling plant in the Little Marcle Road on Thursday, December 18.

Police arrived, at around 7.35pm to find a section of the perimeter fence had been cut.

Three men were seen loading around £140 worth of car batteries into a van.

Officers apprehended two men at the scene.

These two men, who have not been named, have been charged with theft and will appear before Hereford Magistrates in the New Year, on a date still to be announced.

Anyone with information concerning the Ledbury burglary spree should phone police on the 101 number, or 999 if a burglary is still in progress.
