BUDDING Santas are being invited to take part in a Santathon to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice.

Santas young and old can sign up for the fundraising event on Sunday, November 30, with running and cycling events on offer.

There is a choice of 4 or 8-mile routes for each event, starting and finishing at Top Barn Activity Centre, Holt Heath, and santa suits will be provided to all participants to help everyone get into the seasonal spirit.

Lizzie Brazier, community fundraiser at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “This is a really fun way to start your Christmas celebrations this year.

“What better way to get into the spirit of things than to dress up as Santa and take part in a bit of friendly competition as you run or cycle for a good cause?”

The event is open to all ages and "offers the ideal opportunity for families to enjoy some fresh air and the lovely scenery around the Holt Heath area", according to the organisers.

Registration costs £10 for adults, £5 for under 12s and participants can choose to do one or both events, with the run starting at 9am and the cycle ride at noon.

Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £25 sponsorship for St Richard’s Hospice, which provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses across Worcestershire.
