A GROUP of people from parishes across Worcestershire will be visiting the Diocese of Peru in November.

Those making the trip were commissioned by the Rt Rev John Inge, Bishop of Worcester, during a special service at Worcester Cathedral.

The Diocese of Worcester has a link with the Diocese of Peru, which was set up to help the two groups fulfil their mission to strengthen the bonds of affection and solidarity in the worldwide Anglican Communion.

There are regular visits between the two dioceses, with the Assistant Bishop of Peru having visited Worcester during September.

People from the parish of Dudley including the Rt Rev Graham Usher, Bishop of Dudley, will also join the Worcester contingent on the trip next month.

He said: “One of the joys of being part of the Church of England is that our horizons are always lifted to the worldwide church.

“It’s a great delight that I’ll be joining a team from the Diocese of Worcester visiting Peru and I’m looking forward to experiencing their many different ways of reaching out to their communities with the love of God in Jesus.”

The travelling group has a particular interest in children’s ministry, so the trip will include visits to schools and a diocesan children’s home in Peru.
