A SECOND exhibition is being planned in Ledbury to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War.; but this time it will mark the close of the conflict.
Ledbury Town Council is looking ahead to 2018, when the follow up to the recent successful "Life in Ledbury" exhibition, which looked at the 'home front' from 1914 to 1918, will be "Ledbury Remembers All".
The focus this time will be on Ledbury people who served during the conflict, " in this country and in France, Belgium, Gallipoli, Salonika, Italy, Egypt, Palestine, Mesopotamia and on the high seas as far afield as the Falklands".
The exhibition will commemorate all those who left Ledbury and served their country in the Navy, the Army, the Air Force and supporting services, from 1914 to 1918.
It is hoped that work on putting the exhibition together will start by late 2017, but Ledbury people are being asked for their essential input.
Any resident with a Ledbury ancestor who served during the conflict should call into the town council offices with details,or email admin@ledburytowncouncil.gov.uk
Photographs will also be welcome.
