POLICE are appealing for information after an antique school bell was stolen from a garden in Whitbourne, near Bromyard.

The valuable half-tonne bell, which is worth between £10,000 and £12,000, or £3,000 on scrap value, was stolen from a garden in Linley Green between 1.50am and 9am on Friday, August 8.

The suspects are thought to have moved the bell, which is made by the company John Taylor and has the number 232 and 11 on it, through a number of fields on a heavy duty cart and then been picked up by a parked vehicle.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or anyone who has been offered such a bell, should contact Sergeant Ball at Hereford Police station by calling 101, quoting incident number 145 of 8th August.
