Forest of Dean MP Mark Harper recently took time out of his busy schedule to visit the community shop at Bromsberrow.
He met both volunteers and visitors and took tea and cake with members of the village.
Mr Harper heard from Postmaster John Meredith on the ongoing matter of transferring the post office services to the shop.
Afterwards, Mr Harper agreed to sign the shop's mural art boards, paid in the main by Bromesberrow Parish Council, and which the children of Bromesberrow Primary School will be using for a community art project in September.
Mr Harper purchased fresh local strawberries, local Bromesberrow Estate Ragged Stone Cider and local cheeses.
He said: I am delighted to be back at the shop where I have witnessed the numerous improvements to the infrastructure and the progress with various licenses to operate the business effectively , to serve the local and wider community."
