Dozens of cyclists took to the hills recently in a bid to turn pedal power into pounds.
The Cambrian Mountains proved no obstacle to fundraisers as the Trans Wales cycle ride took to theWelsh hills.
The annual charity event is organised by the Kington Lions Club and challenges cyclists to complete a sponsored 60-mile trek from Aberystwyth to Herefordshire.
A pack of 46 riders left the coast at 10am, while six made the shorter journey from Rhayader to Kington.
Of course, there was the usual array of committed, hardcore cyclists, but the chasing pack included some surprises. Among the entrants was 80-year-old Norman Adams, from Redditch, while John Woodhall celebrated his 50th birthday by completing the trek.
The latter took seven hours - some four hours behind the first placed rider - and finished last, but former Lions president John Moss was full of praise for everyone who took part.
"It was another great ride and as far as we're concerned it went really well," said Mr Moss.
"It got a bit wet after a while but everyone gave their all and we thank them for that."
Once the sponsorship is collected, this year's ride is expected to raise more than £2,000 for the Lions Club, to be handed to local good causes.
