ACCORDING to charity Animal Aid, March is Veggie Month.
Knowing what a carnivore I am, my colleague Jess Phillips - who has been a vegetarian for the past 17 years - suggested I give up meat for the month.
To me - a person who eats meat probably every single day - this sounded like quite a challenge.
Most meals don't seem complete without meat to me. Even a a salad isn't complete without chicken in my house.
But to please Jess, and to see if I really could do it, I thought I'd give it a go.
Jess has kindly written me a list of tasty meals I can make, and when I look around I realise there is actually more choice out there for vegetarians than I thought.
I'd imagine when most meat eaters think of going vegie they think of purely eating salad and fruit.
But when you think about it, it won't be that much of a change - quorn is an easy substitute for meats such as chicken and mince, and vegetarian sausages and burgers are as tasty as their meaty counterparts.
I'm looking forward to seeing if I feel any different after a meat-free month. Will I have less energy or more? Will I even miss meat at all? And how easy will I find it?
I'll be updating this blog on how I do and posting pictures of the meals I manage to concoct.
Please feel free to share your similar experiences and tips with me so that I can make the most of this month.
