THERE were a number of things I could have written about for this blog entry that have enraged me these past few weeks.

Top of that list was the news that Amazon was selling T-shirts with slogans reading ‘Keep Calm and Rape Them’ and ‘Keep Calm and Hit Her’.

Surely I don’t even have to go in to why this is horrible and disgusting and wrong - it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that it encourages the sexual and physical abuse of women.

But after a week of speaking to inspirational people and writing some rather lovely stories, it was hard not to write about the things that restored my faith in humanity.

It’s not every week (although it should be) that you get to write about (and drool over pictures of) delicious cakes while supporting a worthwhile cause.

The Hereford Haven’s Mothering Bunday seems to have brought out the best in people, as well as some of the best baking (not including my own, which is rubbish).

And I challenge anyone to feel upset or angry after speaking to lovely Leominster lady Ellie Targett, who has collected thousands of teddy bears to send to some of the most needy children in South Africa.

She has selflessly sent hundreds of bears to date to hundreds of children, most of whom will never have been given anything else in their life.

Finally, it is hard to feel angry or sad about anything after speaking to inspirational people like Dave and Beverley Rachel, who turned the tragic death of their son Theo in to a positive chance to raise money to do good.

There are some amazing people in this county and while there is always something to moan or feel genuinely furious about, sometimes it helps more to focus on the good.

So what has put a smile on your face recently? Let me know below.
